Margaret C. "Peggy" Hanousek, 76, of Manlius, passed away peacefully on Sunday.

She was born on May 10, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA daughter of the late James and Lillian (Burt) Carlisle. Ms. Hanousek held a BA in English and a MA in education, both from Syracuse University. She completed specialized training in career consulting. She was the director for the Displaced Homemaker Program. Peggy was also a sixth grade school teacher at LaFayette Elementary School. Peggy was a proud member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and was an avid SU sports fan. She was predeceased by her husband Victor Hanousek in 1983.

Surviving are her 3 children; Victor, Jr. (Annie), Janet "Jodi" (Erik) Larson, Theodore (Jennifer), 5 grandchildren: Chloe, Ethan, Emma, Kate & Sophie, brother James M. Carlisle, 2 sisters; Lillian Dixie Carlisle & Janet Bogdan.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-6pm with services at 6pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
