Peggy was 70 when she died at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital in Syracuse on April 1, 2012 while surrounded by her family. She retired three years ago from the Diocese of Syracuse - Family Life Education and one year ago as Chairman of the Board, LCBA.
Peggy enjoyed traveling, casinos and spending time with her grandkids who lovingly referred to her as "Ah" or "The Queen". Born on the Fourth of July she loved to party and hosted their annual birthday celebration for 45 years with family & friends. She loved a joke, had a great sense of humor and as much as she dished it out, she could take it.Peggy grew up in Syracuse and graduated from St. Anthony of Padua High School. She was the daughter of the late John F. Gallagher and Dorothy (Singer) Gallagher and sister of the late Pat Carey.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jim; children, Brenda (Michael) Sanchez, Jamie Dupee (Stacey Miller), Jennifer (Greg) Kerns & Matthew (Julie) Dupee; grandchildren, Kirstin & Justin Miles, Brennon Dupee, Christian Kerns, Ryan & Aidan Dupee, Lisa & Jason Sanchez, Matthew & Jessica Kerns; siblings, Sherrie (Darrell) Cordary, Janine Hernandez, Mary Hess, Michael Gallagher, Joan (Jim) Sotherden & Theresa (Christopher) Baker; aunt, Marcy Singer; brother-in-law, Ed Carey; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins & many wonderful friends. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Monday April 9, 2012 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Syracuse.
Donations in lieu of flowers made to: American Lung Association, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or Scleroderma Foundation, Tri-State Chapter in memory of Peggy Dupee.
