Margaret "Peggy" C. Della Valle, 81, of North Syracuse, passed away on Wednesday surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse to the late Thomas and Helen Brown. She was predeceased by her twin brother, James in 1964. Margaret was a graduate of Assumption High School and Maria Regina College. She worked at Kiddie-Garten Nursery School and then went onto to be the first teacher aide in North Syracuse Central Schools. Later she became a teaching assistant for students with disabilities, working at Riordan School and Main Street Early Education Program, and Cicero Elementary. She worked with NYSUT advancing the work of paraprofessionals in New York State. Margaret enjoyed traveling, camping and spending time with friends and family. She belonged to Civic Social and the Rainbow Group for widows.
She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Della Valle, Jr.
Margaret is survived by four children, Maureen (Mitchell) Patterson, Michael Della Valle III, Kathleen Della Valle and James (Vanessa) Della Valle; four grandchildren, Amanda (Adam) Davis, Mitchell (Nicole) Patterson, Joshua Nessmiller and Tyler (Brianne) Nessmiller; six great-grandchildren, Drake Lavallee, Bryant Lavallee, Gwena Aubin, Ariana Davis, Boston Davis and Elaina Nessmiller; sister, Patricia (Michael) Ross Currier; several nieces and nephews and many adoring friends.
Calling hours will be Friday, Aug. 31st 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals in N. Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday 10am at St. Rose of Lima Church followed by burial in North Syracuse Cemetery. Donations may be made to Friends of the North Syracuse Early Education Program, Inc.
