Marga B. Burkin
August 6, 2007
Marga B. Burkin, 86, of Liverpool, New York, died Aug. 6 at Birchwood Nursing Home. Born in Weissenburg in Bayern, Germany, Mrs. Burkin immigrated to the United States in 1950 and lived in New York City, then Syracuse, and finally settled in the Bayberry community of Liverpool, N.Y. in 1964.
Mrs. Burkin was well-known around Bayberry because she walked almost daily, at all times of the year, having no interest in learning to drive. She believed walking was a much better way to meet people and stay in good health. She is predeceased by a son, Peter Burkin in 2001. She is survived by one son, Anatole (Robin) Burkin, of Oxford, Conn., and one granddaughter. Calling hours will be from 4-6 pm Friday at New Comer Family Funeral Home, 705 North Main St., North Syracuse. A memorial service will be held at a later date for family members only. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Church of Christ Ministries, Pastor Floyd House, 47099 Be Harbor Dr., Liverpool, NY 13090.
