Mamie Sue Justus, 92, formerly of Mattydale, NY, Torrington, CT and Mountain Grove, MO, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday.
She was a member of Trinity Assembly of God and loved Jesus with all her heart and looked forward to her eternal home in Heaven. Mamie always took great pride in maintaining a beautiful home and garden.
She and her husband moved to central New York to devote many years to making memories with her daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her out-going personality touched everyone she met. Whether it was a waitress at a local restaurant or a neighbor across the street, Mamie's love for life followed her wherever she went.
She is predeceased by her husband, Albert T. Justus to whom she was married to for 49 years; an infant daughter, Debora Ann Justus; her mother Pearl McDaris, her father; sisters, Lindey Owen, Goldie Amos and Eula Mae Goodrum; and a brother, James Eden.
Mamie is survived by her daughter, Mary (Gary) Houghton; five grandchildren, Jeremy (Cristina) Dorion, Kristen (David) Bearup, Benjamin (Stephanie) Dorion, Christopher Dorion and Shannon Houghton; three great grandchildren, Evelyn Dorion, Joshua Bearup and Olivia Bearup; a brother, Marvin (Suzanne) McDaris; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Monday, August 29, 2016 from 4-6PM at Trinity Assembly of God, 4398 Route 31, Clay, NY 13041.
Services will follow at 6PM at the church.
A private burial will take place at North Syracuse Cemetery.
