Lucy A. Lamparella, 96, passed away on January 22, 2021, at her daughter Theresa A. Pierce's home in Cicero, NY. She was born in Syracuse and lived here all her life. She was employed at and retired from Syracuse China. Early in life Lucy loved to bowl and cook. She was known for her delicious Polish dishes, like gwumpkies, "crushed chickies," and her lasagna. She loved to travel. California was her favorite place to go and visit her daughter Patricia Lamparella in San Diego. She could never leave without visiting the San Diego Zoo and seeing her friends the orangutans. Later in life, she enjoyed watching "her programs," going out to eat with family, and doing large print word searches.
She is survived by her daughters, Theresa and husband James, and Patricia and wife Pam, daughter-in-law Sharon Lamparella, niece Sharon Haresky, and several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Vincent J. Lamparella Sr., son Dr. Vincent J. Lamparella Jr., sisters Irene and Jenny, and brothers Henry and Stanley. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, David Lamparella and wife Amy, Gina Lamparella-Grose and husband Andrew, Alan Lamparella and wife Aubrae, Heather Zimmerman and husband Alan, Kara Lawrence and husband Albert, and Alexandra, Shannon and Brandon Lamparella-Bates, and nine great grandchildren, Jacob, Julia, Eliza, Sasha, Nicholas, Abigail, Elijah, Reagan, and Taylor.
There will be no calling hours. There will be a Catholic mass at St. Joseph's Church in Camillus on Thursday, January 28th at 10:30am, followed by a private burial at Greenlawn Cemetery in Warners.
