Louise L. Smith,
recently of Weedsport , NY, passed away on Sept. 3, 2011. Louise was born in Syracuse, NY on November 17, 1926 . She worked at LaFayette High School cafeteria for 14 years. She retired in 1991 from her position, as Dispatcher, for the Chili Volunteer Fire Department. She then moved to Lady Lake, FL where she was involved in community affairs, and a member of the Chapel of All Faiths church. She, and her husband Burton, volunteered at Habitat for Humanity for five years and as Hospice Caregivers for 9 years, having received the Volunteer of the year Award 3 consecutive years from Hospice, in Florida. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Florida. She was predeceased by her adoring husband of 66 years, Burton L. Smith, Sr.
Survivors: She is survived by two loving daughters; Sharon Long (David) and Trudie Barker-Jindrak (Mark), and five loving sons, Burton, Jr. (Jean), Richard (Sherri), David (Beth), Marc (Sandy), and Jerry (Debbie); 1 Sister; Susan G. Ruehl.
23 Grandchildren; Matthew, Melissa, Richard Jr., Kimberly, Stacey, Cantrelle, Jeshua, Matt, Holly, Julie, Kelly, Marc Jr., Jackie, Teila, Christopher, Kevin, Laura, Ashlee, Steve, William, Mark, Michael, and Stephanie; she had 41 Great-Grandchildren:.
She is also predeceased by 3 sisters: Thelma McVoy, Patricia Naylor, Gertrude Lauzon and 1 brother, William Lauzon.
Services: 12:00 Noon Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011 at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, NY 13212. Burial will be Private. Visitation will be Thursday Sept. 8, 2011 from 11AM-12 Noon at the funeral home.
