Louis Anthony DeLucas, 74, of Liverpool, passed away after a 2 year battle with cancer on August 4, 2023 surrounded by his family listening to his favorite music.
Louis fondly known as Lou or Louie was born and raised in the Syracuse area where he was a jack-of-all-trades. He started his career delivering snack foods for Frito Lay and Groffs. He then owned a convenience store with his wife. Most recently, he worked for the Camillus DOT, where he had to retire due to a medical condition.
He is survived by his Wife of 40 years, Denise M. DeLucas; Five Children, Peter Vazquez, Lisa (Michael) Weakley, Louis V. (Sue) DeLucas, Maria (Kevin) Mirarcki and Stephanie Richmond; Two Sisters, Maryann (Mal) Merritt and Michele (Al) Zinkovitch; Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, Amber, Jasmine, Peter Jr., Michael Jr., Connor, Brytni, Jacob, Kortni, Ava, Vivian, Casella, Holden; As well as several Nieces and Nephews and his beloved Cat, Boots.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Angelo and Jean DeLucas; Sister, Sandy Hooser and Daughter in Law, Beverly Vazquez.
Louie was an amazing Husband, Dad, Brother and Uncle and he loved being Papa to his grandkids. Louis was a kind soul who made new friends everywhere he went with his gift of gab. He was a lover of dogs and cats. Previously a member of the Fairmount Bowling League, Louie also enjoyed fishing, watching sports, trips to Saratoga racetrack, casinos, and spending time with his family.
Visitation will take place on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm.
