Lorraine Ann Merkling, 74, of Clay passed away on Sunday August 21st at her home. She was born in Syracuse and lived in Arizona for a number of years before returning to town. Lorraine lived her life battling rheumatoid arthritis and faced it with courage and grace. Her love for her family was unmatched and an example for all to follow. She was always willing to do what she could, offer sage advice and make the best of it while enduring great challenges.
Her passion for spending time with family, shopping, baking, cooking, traveling, and card playing was a source of immense joy. She always put the happiness of others first.
Lorraine was a devoted caregiver to her parents, the late, Armanti "Babe" and Tina Mancini. She was predeceased by her husband William Merkling, sister Barbara
Mancini and brother-in-law Thomas Merkling.
She is survived by her son, Cliff (Cheri) Merkling, grandchildren Griffin and Claud, sister Jeanine (Dan) Rizzo, brother Mark (Cathy) Mancini, brother-in-law Ron (Geri) Merkling, sister-in-law Debra Merkling, nieces and nephew; Alexandra Rizzo, Daniel Rizzo, Brianna (Drew) Simoneau, Lauren Mancini and many close cousins.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday September 24th at 9:30 am at St Elizabeth Ann Seton in Baldwinsville.
