Lorraine (Woolston) Hiltz, 91, passed away August 6, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse, NY.
She was born in Churchville, NY and married and moved to Binghamton, NY where she and her husband raised their family. She lived there for 67 years. She loved picnics, parties, playing cards and was known as the "Cookie Lady" and loved her tabletop wind up toys. She will forever be remembered for her good nature.
She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Clayton Hiltz, as well as two brothers, Lionel and Daniel Woolston and a grandson, Timothy J. Hiltz. She is survived by her children: Daniel (Michaelene Lesko) Hiltz, Dianne Henson and Fred Hiltz (Gerda Cassara); grandchildren: Gathering Marbet, Harley Hiltz, Robert (Kara Soos) Hiltz, and (Alisha Hiltz Dunlavey) and great-grandchildren: Colt Hiltz, Avril Hiltz, Kaylee Dunlavey and Scarlet Hiltz; and Susan Hiltz DiPasquale who was so supportive to Lorraine.
Deepest thanks to everyone at Buckley Landing for taking such great care of her these last four years and her card playing buddies who volunteered their time to be with her. Our sincerest thanks to Team 2-8 at St. Joseph's Hospital for their outstanding compassion, care and support during her time there.
A Calling hour will be Saturday, August 16, from 12-1PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Memorial Services will follow at 1PM.
