Lori Jean Verish, 67, passed away on February 7, 2025, in North Syracuse, New York. Born on December 11, 1957, in Syracuse, New York, to Nicholas and Gloria Verish.
Lori had a deep love for the outdoors and found immense joy in nature’s beauty. She cherished long walks with her beloved dogs and spent peaceful moments at the camp her father built, where she enjoyed late-night fires under the moonlight. Her passion for animals was evident in the countless hours she dedicated to training her dogs in agility courses and at home over the years. Her devotion to them was unwavering, and they were truly the center of her life.
Lori is survived by her cousin Victor Barbatos of North Carolina and her cousin Steve Verish of New Jersey. She also leaves behind several best friends: Brian and Nicole Stewart, their children Zach, Collin and Sydney, Kim-Anh Pham, and her childhood best friends Sue Yaeger and Kathy Styth.
She was predeceased by her father Nicholas Verish Sr., her mother Gloria Verish, and her brother Nicholas Verish Jr. A private burial will take place in Montoza Cemetery in Barryville, New York, with her closest friends in attendance.
Lori’s love for nature and animals will be fondly remembered by those who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to all who shared in her life.
