Lorena A. Roe, passed away on April 27th. Born May 5, 1919 on Mohawk Hill, NY.
She was the last living matriarch of the family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jack; siblings: Clarence, Alfred, Earl, Irene, Verena, Mildred, Stanley and Patrick; and granddaughter Amanda Platler.
She is survived by her daughters; Marcia (Russ) Wentworth, Elaine (Larry) Malcolm, sons: David (Ann) Platler and Robert (Jen) Roe; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews with a shine to Patricia Gail.
After high school, she entered Utica School of Commence but then saw her true calling to be a nurse. She graduated from St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing in 1942. Starting her career, giving care and understanding; she worked in tuberculosis, hospital and finishing her career as a Nursing Supervisor at Hill Haven Nursing Home. Lorena and Jack resided in Colorado enjoying the purple mountain majesty until her return to central New York in October 2013. With an adventurous spirit to travel, she loved to garden and enjoyed family.
Calling hours will be Friday, April 29th from 6-8pm at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse.
Services will be Saturday, April 30th at 10am, Sacred Heart Church, Cicero.
Burial will follow at the North Syracuse Cemetery.
She will be truly missed to whom she provided her good common sense and stories of old.
