Loren E. Oatman, Jr., 72, of East Syracuse, passed away on Thursday at the VA Medical Center. He was born on October 31, 1940 in Syracuse. He served in the US Navy during Vietnam and was last employed at Allied Chemical in Jamesville. He was predeceased by his wife, Rita (LaRock), brother, Gerald Oatman, 2 sisters, Kathleen Lowe & Jane Arno. He was a member of the American Legion Post #359 in East Syracuse.
Surviving are his sons, Mark E. Oatman, Loren & Patty E. Oatman, III, granddaughter, Amanda, great grandson, Richard, and many other who knew him as grandpa, including Ryan Skinner. He is also survived by his brother, Ed Oatman, and his sisters, Carol Oatman, Sharon LaRock, Genevieve Picciano & Maryann Penoyer.
Services will be private. There are no calling hours.
