Lois A. Green , 82, of Cicero, passed away peacefully, with her children, brother and sister by her side on Thursday.
She was born at home to the late Fred and Helen (Johnston) Green. She was a loving stay at home mother until her children were older. Later, she worked as a secretary at Sacred Heart Church in Cicero for 18 years. Lois volunteered at Altar Rosary Society for over 40 years, holding offices of secretary and treasurer.
She also volunteered as an IRS Tax Assistant, Notary Public, helped with the Bi-Centennial Parade float and was a room mother when her children were younger. Lois was an avid genealogist for both sides of her family for the last 40 years.
She was predeceased by her son, James Elderbroom (Blizzard of '66); husband, Francis Elderbroom; 2 brothers, Paul Green and Charles Stoddard and 2 sisters, Kathleen Cole and Lillian Morey.
Lois is survived by 6 children, Frederick Elderbroom of Cicero, David (Diane) Elderbroom of Wylie, TX, Ronald Elderbroom of Cicero, Daniel (Jackie) Elderbroom of Liverpool, Janice (Jeffrey) Beardsley of Brewerton and Caroline (Anthony) Horzempa of Kirkville; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; twin brother, George V. Green of Cicero; sister, Nancy Hughes of Watertown; sister-in-law, Constance Stoddard of Syracuse and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Thursday 5-7PM at New Comer Funeral Home in N. Syracuse.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday 11AM at Sacred Heart Church in Cicero. Burial will be private.
