Linda S. Wakefield
July 16, 1954 — July 30, 2019
Linda S. Wakefield, 65 of Peru, NY, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side. Born on July 16, 1954 to Maxwell "Bud" and Eunice "Kitty" Dragon.
She received her Bachelor Degree at SUNY Plattsburgh in Elementary Education and her Masters at SUNY New Paltz in Early Childhood Development.
She retired early from Sullivan County Head Start. She loved the water, fishing, boating, playing cards and spending time with her family. She was very giving and opened her heart and home to many like a second Mother.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Jeffrey; children, Jessica Wakefield, Crystal Wakefield-Vital and Jeffrey Wakefield II; grandchildren, Christopher and Alexander Wakefield-Vital; father, Maxwell "Bud"; siblings, Cindy (James) Preusser, Barry (Linda) Dragon, Gail (Thomas) MacLean, Janice (Jerry) Hazelwood, Patti Trifilo and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by her mother, Eunice "Kitty" Dragon and her loving dog, Puggles.
Calling hours will take place at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, N. Syracuse on Saturday, August 3, from 2-5pm. Funeral Service will follow at 5pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Autism Awareness and Diabetes Foundation.
