Linda K. Martineau

Linda K. Martineau, 73, of Cicero, passed away peacefully at The Cottages on Thursday, March 6, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Linda was born in Syracuse on January 28, 1952, the daughter of the late Chester and Nancy Glab.

Linda prided herself on caring for dozens of families’ children with her Lasting Memories Daycare for over 20 years until her retirement in the Summer of 2022. She was an avid SU basketball fan and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was also a proud member of the Cicero United Methodist Church for many decades.

Sadly, Linda was predeceased by her husband of over 51 years, John Martineau, her daughter, Rachel Martineau, and her son, Joshua Martineau.

Linda’s heart was broken too many times and she was ready to be with her loved ones. She was God’s greatest example of strength. The neighborhood misses seeing John and her walking hand in hand, giving us all hope that love transcends the most difficult sorrow.

Linda is survived by her caregiver of the past 18 months, Kimberly Birklin, along with Daniel, Corbin, and Nolan Birklin, her siblings, in-laws, nieces, and nephews. A special thank you to Pastor Jefferson Niles, the Millas and Bush families, and friends Marlene Johnson, Sharon Broton, Faye Gregory, and Leslie Hearne for the extra love and treats they provided.

We’d also like to thank the staff of Cottage 5411. The care, love and compassion you gave Linda these past few months means everything to us. We hope you realize how much you are appreciated.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, at Cicero United Methodist Church, with services immediately following at 10:30 a.m. The services will be livestreamed from the Cicero United Methodist Church at one of the following links:

Burial will follow at North Syracuse Cemetery.
