Linda G. Blackburn

Linda G. Blackburn, 81, of Brewerton, passed away at home on August 24, 2024, surrounded by family. Linda was born in Syracuse, NY on July 17, 1943 to Ralph and Marcelle Allen. She went to North Syracuse Schools. Linda was married to James L. Blackburn Sr. on August 18, 1962, just celebrating their 62nd wedding anniversary. Linda worked for the family business, Blackburn Plumbing and Heating until she retired. She was involved with SOVAC ambulance for many years as a Level 4 EMT and board member. Linda found true joy in reading, bowling, bird watching, gardening, painting, knitting and crocheting. 

She was predeceased her parents, Ralph and Marcelle Allen. 

Linda is survived by her husband, James L. Blackburn Sr.; children, James L. (Lora) Blackburn Jr. and daughter, Sarah Blackburn (Robert) Stacy; grandchildren, James L. (Kathleen) Blackburn III, Alexander Stacy and Richard Blackburn; great grandchild, Anna C. Blackburn; sisters, Bonnie (Charles) McDevitt and Debra (Robert) Evans; and several nephews and a niece. 

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Hospice of CNY, Nephrology Hypertension Association of CNY, and Fresenius Kidney Care St Joseph's Seneca. 

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 4-7PM at New Comer Cremations and Funerals. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home the following morning, August 29, 2024 at 10AM. Burial will be made in Pine Plains Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Linda's memory to the HumaneCNY, Hospice of CNY, the National Kidney Foundation, and Brewerton Ambulance.
