Li-Kong Hwang

Li-Kong Hwang, 69, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday with family members at his side. Born in China, he escaped the communist government and fled to Taiwan. For his family, he, alone, immigrated to the US and pursued the American dream of self determination and economic security and upon succeeding brought his family to the US. He is a hero to his family. His love, courage and sacrifice for his family and future generations is an example that will forever be remembered.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Chi-Wha Hwang; son, Tony (Grace) Hwang from Fairfield, Connecticut; daughters, Jennie (Louie) Hwang-Lu from Yorktown Heights, NY and Patty (James) Hung from Liverpool; six grandchildren; Philip, Andrew, Christina, Alex, Emily and Peter; three sisters; Li-Ying Hwang, Shirley Hartzig and Woo Ko Sung; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be Sunday from 1-4PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Services will be private.
