Leonard C. Dano Sr., 56, of North Syracuse died Friday at Pontiac Nursing Home after a long illness. A native of Syracuse, he was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War where he received 2 purple hearts. Mr. Dano was employed with New Process Gear in East Syracuse for many years before his retirement in 2003.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Joan (Proughty), three sons; Leonard Jr. (Cynthia), Timothy (Brenda) and Eric (Crystal), one daughter; Jennifer Dano, five brothers; Thomas, James, Robert, Kenneth and Martin Dano, two sisters; Tina and Joan, 3 grandchildren; Madison and Molly Dano and Jason DeVore.
Services will be held on Monday at 7 PM at New Comer Family Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Burial will be private. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-7 PM at the funeral home, 705 North Main Street. Contributions may be made to the St. Rose of Lima Endowment Fund.
