Leonard E. Cormier III

Leonard E. Cormier III, passed away on December 24, 2024 at the age of 82. He was born in Syracuse, NY on January 19, 1942. 

Leonard was a member of The American Legion Post #1 in Cicero, NY. He was a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, NC.

 He worked in various capacities before becoming a member of the Chittenango Police Department.

 Leonard was an avid bass fisherman.

 He is predeceased by his parents; Leonard Cormier Sr. and Margaret Cormier.

 He is survived by a daughter; Ann Marie (David) Benton and her mother, Mary Cormier; sisters, Diana Stagnitti and Roxanne (Harold) Wiemeier; brother, Marc (Carol) Cormier; grandchildren, Sarah Benton, Lindsley (Guy) Benton; two great grandchildren, Blake and Charlotte; and several nieces and nephews. 

 Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals on Thursday, January 2, 2024 from 4-7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Basilica Church, Syracuse, NY on January 3, 2024 at 9:30am. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland, NY.

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The 82nd Airborne Division Association, P.O. Box 87482 Fort Liberty, Fayetteville, NC 28304-7482.

The family does ask that all who come to pay their respects, please refrain from wearing perfumes and fragrances.
