Leona Harrington-Alegre

Leona "Lea" Harrington-Alegre, 75, of Syracuse, passed away September 2, 2022 after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Leona was born in Syracuse, New York on July 8, 1947 to the late Charles and Mary Harrington. She was a loving and devoted mother who spoiled her grandchildren, and loved being around family and friends. Lea was kind, caring, and thought of others above herself. She was positive and never complained. She loved dancing to live music. She was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Congelo; and a brother, Charles C Harrington, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Ronald (Pam Werchinski) Arns; two daughters, Rhonda (Crescenzo) Paduano, and Robin M. (Diane DeFisher) Dowdy; grandchildren, Skyler and Tristin Dowdy, Maria Bella Paduano, Caitlyn Coryell; seven sisters, Gwen Thayer, Charlene Harrington, Janet Baker, Patricia Diaz, Barbara Munger, Joanie Collins, Grace Mandish; two brothers, Jesse Harrington, Roger Harrington; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours are Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 9:00 am-11:30 am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals - North Syracuse, 705 N. Main St, Syracuse with a service to follow at 11:30.
