Leon Gilinsky
September 20, 1917 — March 12, 2018
Leon Gilinsky, 100, of Syracuse passed away on Monday at Loretto Nursing Home.
He served in the US Navy during WW II and played basketball for Syracuse University. Leon enjoyed playing golf and was always known for telling a good joke.
He was predeceased by his wife, Helen in 2008.
He is survived by his children; Philip Gilinsky, Phyllis (Thomas) Cosentino, Audrey (Christopher) LaPoint, Nancy Olson (Gregory Pearce), grandchildren; Christina, Andrea, Laura, Kristy, Jessica, Monica, Samantha, and 9 great
grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St.,
North Syracuse, with services to follow.
Contributions may be made to The Waters Center for Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders, 750 East Adams St., Syracuse, NY 13210.
