On Sunday, July 31, 2022, Leon C. Cook, devoted dog dad and loyal friend, passed away at home at the age of 79. Leon was born on May 29, 1943 to Clyde and Grace (West) Cook, in Cortland, NY.
Over the course of Leon's life he wore many hats. During his early years, he worked at the former amusement park, Suburban Park, in Manlius, NY. He then worked for a number of years as a milkman, a job he remembered fondly. But the most memorable of hats he wore was during his time working at the former Cosmo's Pizza of Marshall St., on the SU Hill. From 1960, until his retirement in 2010, he could be seen working at the front counter, making pizzas in his signature white bucket hat. Leon's quiet and easy-going demeanor made him easy to like and he formed some of his most meaningful and lifelong friendships there. Leon had a huge enthusiasm for dogs and was a loving dog dad, owning a number of beloved pets over his lifetime. Leon enjoyed karate and was an enthusiastic follower of many sports. Leon was a wonderful friend and a good neighbor. He will be sorely missed by many.
