Lawrence D. Strickler

June 6, 1950 — August 23, 2019

Lawrence D. Strickler, 69 of Syracuse, passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimers. Born on June 6, 1950 to the late Stanley Strickler and Verna (Carl) Ackerman.

His greatest life adventure was sailing The Great Lakes on cargo ships. He retired from CSX as a signal maintainer after 34 years of service. Larry loved being with family and friends and was a devoted, dedicated and caring father.

He is survived by his children, Aimee (Justin) Brady, Lindsey Strickler (Jesse) and Michael (Christina) Strickler; grandchildren, Kevin Jr., Derek, Makena, Liam, Mason and Morgan and brother, John (Dottie) Strickler.

Predeceased by his siblings, Ray, Jim, Sandra, Velma and his beloved dog, Dora.

Calling hours will take place at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, N. Syracuse on Saturday, September 7th from 12-4pm. Funeral Service will follow at 4pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association CNY, 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
