Lawrence R. Cardinell, 78, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home on April 17th surrounded by his family. Lawrence was born in Ogdensburg, NY to the late Olive and Claude Cardinell. He served 2 years in the U.S. Army. Lawrence worked various jobs; for the last 30 plus years he was a self employed delivery driver who drove for Westcott Florist. He liked to tinker with his vehicles and loved his daily coffee stops at various places. He also enjoyed impromptu roadtrips all over the East Coast. Lawrence will be remembered as a loving, caring man who joked around a lot. He was totally dedicated to his family.
Lawrence was predeceased by his siblings and a great-granddaughter, Aubree.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Grace Cardinell; children, Lori (Bob) Rupp, David (Carrie Calcaginio) Cardinell and Christine (Charlie) Abert; grandchildren, Samantha, Michael, Jaime, Caroline, Nicole, Payton, Julia and Peyton; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Sierra, Aaden, Silver, Nolan, Sage, Jaxxon and two on the way; close family member and caretaker, Leslie Waterman and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 2nd 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals. Burial will take place on Tuesday, May 3rd at 1pm in Onondaga Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
