LaVerne G. Harris, Sr., 66 of N. Syracuse, passed away on Thursday at home with the presence of his twin brother, Verne and wife Mary. He was born on April 9, 1945 in Herkimer, a son of the late Russell and Vivian Lawton Harris. He was a security officer for Church & Dwight and worked for the Solvay Police Dept. as a crossing guard for the Solvay School District.
Surviving are his sons, LaVerne, Jr., Jay, Kevin, Scott, his daughters, Tina, Agnes, Kelly Wright, Karen; brothers, Verne, Allen, Floyd, Leon, Larry, sister, June, 16 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Monday 7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Burial will be in Newport Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Certified Home Health Agency.
