Laurin M. Cook

Laurin M. Cook, 56, of Lafayette, passed away January 7, 2023. Laurin was born in Matuchen, New Jersey on November 19, 1966 to John and Kay Karanik. Laurin retired from Greenwich Manor, Syracuse NY, where she was employed as a Property Manager. In her free time, she enjoyed boating on the St. Lawrence, spending time in the outdoors, and traveling. She had a special place in her heart for her dog Pete. Laurin was the person that was always willing to lend a hand to anyone that needed it. She went out of her way to make people feel special. Laurin had compassion for all and always put others before herself.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Karanik and sister Karin Catalano.

Laurin is survived by her mother Kay (James) Sharpe; her fiancé John; two sons, Bradley (Emily) and Jonathan Cook; brother, Cory (Dana) Karanik; nieces and nephews, Ashley, Dylan, Jack, and Kaci; and great niece, Maya.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 1-2:30PM at New Comer Cremations and Funerals. Memorial contributions for Laurin's family may be sent to the care of Bradley Cook, 685 East Seneca Turnpike Apt C15, Syracuse, 13205.
