Laura Jean Vergara

Laura Jean Vergara, 75, of Parish, passed away July 17, 2022. Laura was born in Syracuse, New York on February 21, 1947 to the late Clarence and Norma Jean Horr.

Laura loved to cook and bake. She was known for her famous banana bread and pies. She was a women of faith, an avid bird watcher, animal lover, lover of music especially the Beatles, talented clarinet player, seamstress, and gardener. She loved singing, dancing, shopping and fashion. Most importantly loved spending time with her family and friends. Laura was predeceased by a brother, Donald Horr.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jose Luis Vergara; two sons, Joseph (Amanda) Vergara, Daren (Jessica) Vergara; granddaughter, Eleanor Vergara; brother, William Henderson; sister, Nancy Winks; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Family and friends may call on Friday, July 22, 2022 from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals - North Syracuse, 705 N. Main St, Syracuse with a service to follow. Inurnment at Pleasant Lawn Cemetery, Parish, NY, July 26, 11AM.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anne Mother of Mary Church, Mexico, NY, Pleasant Lawn Cemetery, or the American Cancer Society.
