L. Earl Torsleff, 86, of N. Syracuse, passed away on Saturday. Earl was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Earl worked at New York Telephone from 1956 until his retirement in 1989.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Debra Lapoint Chauvaux; a grandson, Patrick Hays; sister, Norma Dennis and a cousin, Frank Torsleff.
Earl is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dolores (Dear); daughter, Linda (Joseph) Monteforte; son, David (Cindy) Torsleff; grandchildren, Scott (Amy) Hays, Jason (Jessica) Hays, Joseph Hays, David (Naomi) Torsleff, Heather (Jamie) Casullo, Gregory Lapoint, Kyle Lapoint and Brian Lapoint; six great-grandchildren and a niece, Karen (Bruce) Paquette.
Services were private for the family. Contributions may be made to CNY SPCA, 5878 E. Molloy Rd., Syracuse, NY 13211 or the Humane Association of CNY, PO Box 38, 4915 ½ W. Taft Rd., Liverpool, NY 13088.
