Kenneth A. "Butch" Wood, 75, of Clay passed away surrounded by his children on November 22, 2022. He was born in Syracuse on July 28, 1947.
In his life, Kenneth was an avid boater. He enjoyed older, large boats and restoring them. His dream was to live on the water. He was a free spirited man who enjoyed long rides on his scooter. He loved to travel and always took the scenic route. He developed a love for Oak Island in NC. He always put everyone else before himself, even taking the role of father for his children's friends. He had admirable strength and was a workaholic. After his retirement from Caps N Campers he was restless and started plowing. He loved spending time with his family and friends and always talked about going to visit his brother, Lenny. He played poker with them every weekend and bowling once a week. He shared his love for playing the Organ with his children, teaching them how to play. He loved listening to classical and opera music, especially Charlotte Church and Celtic Woman. Every year he looked forward to the NYS Fair. His favorite stand was Corn Shuckers. He loved scallops and ate them every Friday, and loved clam bakes. He made the best baked beans. Most of all he was kind hearted and a kind soul. He had unwavering love for his children and grandchildren. He was extremely excited and proud for his granddaughter, Kaelyn, to go to Nursing School.
