Kenneth 'Bob' Greene, 85, of Redfield, NY, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the home of his daughter, following a short illness.
Kenneth was born in Syracuse on April 22, 1933 to the late Kenneth E. Greene and Edith Switzer Greene.
He attended Syracuse schools, and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War era as a B-36 bomber aircraft engine mechanic. Following military service, he was employed as an eighteen-wheel truck driver for the Carolina Freight Carriers Company, until the time of his retirement.
Kenneth moved to Redfield after retiring, where he enjoyed living in the tranquility of the Tug Hill region. He was an avid trout fisherman, loved classic cars, and taking trips to Cranberry Lake in the Adirondacks. Those who knew him will remember Kenneth as a cigar aficionado.
Kenneth was predeceased by his sister, Phyllis Hoff, and his life companion Kay.
He is survived by two sisters; Kay Knapp and Joan Metzger, both of East Syracuse, five children, numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 705 North Main Street, North Syracuse, Monday, August 27th from 11am until 12pm. Funeral Service will follow at noon at the funeral home.
Burial will be at North Syracuse Cemetery.
