Ken Shepard

Ken Shepard, 87, of Brewerton, passed away on Sunday at the VA Hospital. He was born in Syracuse on July 14, 1924, son of Forest and Louella Shepard. He served in the US Navy during WW II. On July 29, 1949 he was married to Shirley Raynore in Cicero. He was a husband, dad, grandpa and friend.
Ken owned and operated several Mobil gas stations. He was an avid Yankee Fan, Syracuse Orange Fan, bowler, and golfer. He was a deacon and elder at the Pitcher Hill Community Church and a member of the American Legion Post #787.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley, daughter, Debra, Brewerton, 2 sons; Bob (Carol), N. Syracuse, Ken (Tonya), Clarks Summit, PA, 6 grandchildren; Vincent, Justin, Ross, Joe, Taylor & Travis, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Shepard and a sister, Dot VanDerveer.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 11-1pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse, with services to follow at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place following services at Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners Rd.,Warners, NY.
Contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Pitcher Hill Community Church or to the VA Hospital, Syracuse.
