Keith Douglas Weir

Keith Douglas Weir, 94, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Saturday at Van Duyn Home & Hospital, with his family at his side. Born in Fowler, NY, he grew up in the Cooperstown area. Doug was the oldest boy of Elial Glenn and Lula Weir's 13 children. In 1942, he married Evelyn Morton and shortly after he was drafted into the Army Airforce. While stationed on Guam, he served as an airplane mechanic. In 1957, he moved his family to Syracuse, NY, where he worked for S.J. Groves and Son's Construction Company until his retirement. Doug was an avid sports fan and outdoorsman who enjoyed golf, gardening, hunting and fishing. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn, daughter, Sheri; four sisters and seven brothers.
He is survived by his daughter, Jeri Morlock of North Syracuse; grandson, Matthew (Cassandra) Morlock of Liverpool; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Stephen) Scott of Oak Park, Il; great grandchildren, Nicholas Benedetto, Gwyneth Morlock and Archer Scott; brother Carl Weir of FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 11-12 Noon at Tillapaugh Funeral Home, 28 Pioneer St., Cooperstown, NY. Services will take place at 12 noon followed by burial at Hartwick Seminary Cemetery.

Doug was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a beloved friend and companion to his many nieces and nephews.
His wisdom and guidance will remain with us forever.
