Keith Robert John Austin, 69, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 10th, surrounded by family.
Keith was born in Syracuse, NY to the late Leona Schillo and Gerald Austin. He graduated from East Syracuse-Minoa High School in 1973. Keith was an All-State wrestler all four years. After graduating high school, Keith went on to work at Kilian Manufacturing, starting in an entry level position and working his way up to management, retiring after over 30 years as a Purchasing Director.
In his early years, Keith enjoyed spending time with his friends at P's Pub. Later in life, he enjoyed the same comradery through his coffee club that would meet at Dunkin' and "solve the world's problems".
Keith especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a proud new grandpa for the 5th time and was excited that he could continue to pass on his wisdom and his love. He enjoyed taking the kids out to lunch, teaching them how to drive, attending school & sporting events, or just spending time with his family. He had an incredible love for sports and enjoyed playing and watching golf.
Keith was predeceased by his siblings and siblings-in-law, Skip Austin, Gene (Barbara) Austin, Tom Austin, Darlene (John) Bowman, Kathleen (George) Denison and Ronald Cerutti.
He is survived by his children, Brian (Trudy) Austin and Melanie (Meaghan) Austin; grandchildren, James Lennon, Noah Austin, Jackson Austin, Sophia Austin and Maverick Austin; siblings, Frank (Barb) Austin and Charlene Cerutti; and many nieces and nephews.
The Family would like to thank Dr. Pawan Rao and staff at Nephrology Hypertension Association of CNY for their incredible care provided to Keith over the past several years.
A celebration of life in honor of Keith will take place on December 17th, 2023, at the American Legion located at 1604 Burnet Ave, Syracuse, NY from 1pm-5pm. All are welcome to attend.
