Kathy (Zatony) Parquette, 67, of Clay, passed away peacefully in her home on January 13, 2021. Born January 12, 1954, in Budapest, Hungary to Andrew and Judith Zatony, Kathy was a survivor from the young age of 2, when she and her parents escaped during the Hungarian Revolution in 1956. In her life, Kathy continued as a survivor through several physical ailments, including being a breast cancer survivor for over 20 years. She graduated from Nottingham High School and retired from the New York State Insurance Fund. She married the love of her life, Tom, in 1991 and they enjoyed 29 years of love and laughter together. One of Kathy's greatest joys was her grandchildren, whom she loved with all of her heart and enjoyed spending time with.
Kathy was predeceased by her grandson, Andrew Tracy, in 2019.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Thomas Parquette; her daughter, Christina (Stephen) Tracy, of Peachtree City, GA; grandchildren, Morgan Tracy and Ethan Tracy, of Peachtree City, GA; sisters, Lily (Chuck) Schultz, Susan (Mark) Haubenstock, Margie (Brian) Wengert; brother, Leslie (Robin) Zatony; several nieces, nephews, uncle and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Food Bank of CNY.
