Kathryn E. Porter, 84, of Holliday, FL, passed away on Monday at her daughter's home with family by her side. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of William and Laura Gorrow. She served in the US Navy Reserves from 1951-53 and was the office manager for Mid-State Telephone Co. in Cazenovia for many years retiring in 1980. Kathryn also enjoyed gardening. She was predeceased by her brother, William and sister, Virginia, both of Florida.
Surviving are her husband, George Porter, Jr. of 62 years, son Richard (Nancy) Porter, Baldwinsville, daughter Melissa (Kevin) Richardson, Marcellus, 5 grandchildren, Kathryn & Amanda Porter, Christopher, Matthew & Patrick Richardson and great grandson Luca Richardson, along several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Monday 11am at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. There are no calling hours.
Contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY and to the American Cancer Society.
