Kathleen E. Richardson

Kathleen E. Richardson, 78, of Syracuse, passed away July 12, 2023. Kathleen was born in Syracuse, New York on February 27, 1945 to John and Mary Jane (Baker) Manley. Kathleen retired from VA Hospital, where she was employed as an LPN Nurse. She was an avid horseback rider, loved art and traveling. In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo and shopping. Kathleen was a former foster parent to many children over the years. She took great pride in providing a safe space for children in need.

She was preceded in death by husband, George Murphy Richardson Sr.; father, John Kenneth Manley; mother, Mary Jane Manley; two sisters, Barbara Mary Manley and Nancy L. Manley-Cashin; stepdaughter, Kelly M. (Mark) Haas; and stepson, Gregory M. Richardson.

Kathleen is survived by her, sister, Virginia N. Manley-Justian; nephew, Mark C. (Colleen) Cashin; three nieces, Mary E. (Nicolas) Nemr, Michelle C. (Michael) Napier, Lisa M. Overton; two stepsons, George Murphy (Fiona) Richardson Jr., Scott M (Dawn) Richardson; stepdaughter, Mary M. (Patrick) Cowburn; and several Step Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

Calling hours will be held, Wednesday July 19, 2023 from 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following morning at Pope John XXIII Roman Catholic Church at 10am. Burial will be made in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
