Kathleen "Kathy" A. Bandera (70) passed away at Upstate Medical University May 23, 2022. She was born, in 1951 to Virginia and James Warren, in Syracuse, NY.
She spent her life serving others, first and foremost her family. Kathy was a very firm believer in Christ and had a very strong faith throughout her life. She always put others first and was a very generous volunteer. She volunteered at St. Margaret's food pantry in Mattydale, was a religious education teacher at St. Daniel's, and volunteered for other church functions like the Marian Helpers.
Kathy was a generous, kind, loving woman who cared for others. Anyone who knew her would describe her as a kind soul, always looking for ways to help others.Kathy owned and operated a cleaning business for many years and continued working up until a few weeks ago. Kathy was a strong woman who fought the last few years as a warrior.She was able to meet both of her great grandchildren and her newest grandson through her battle with this illness. Kathy loved music and loved to dance, especially Native American drum music and dancing.
She married Stephen (Steve) Bandera in 1974 and they have four children: Carin (George) Skapars, Michelle (Joseph) Tejera, Melanie (Jake) Rader, and Mark Bandera. They have seven grandchildren: Stephanie (Seyam) Omery, Selena, Lisa, Sergio, Lillianna, Caleb, and Benjamin and two great-grandchildren, Samira and Dariush.
Her family will celebrate her life with a private memorial service.
