Karen M Smith

Karen M. Smith, 67, of Phoenix, passed away on Saturday February 17 after a courageous battle. She was a 1969 graduate of Paul V. Moore High School. Karen was a Credentialing Specialist who retired early to care for her spouse. Most importantly, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter and friend.

Karen is pre-deceased by her father, John Bednar and by Peter L. Smith, her husband of 43 years. Karen is survived by her mother, Jeannine M. Bednar of Central Square; sister, Cynthia A. (David) Brewer of West Monroe; brother, Mark J. Bednar of Mexico; son, Peter J. Smith of North Syracuse; daughter, Dawn M. Smith-Zellar and her husband Craig A. Zellar of Phoenix; two grandsons, Edward J. and Luke J. Zellar.

Calling hours will be Friday March 2 from 6-9pm at the United Church of Christ in Bayberry, 215 Blackberry Road, Liverpool, NY. Services will be held on Saturday March 3, 11am, also at the United Church of Christ in Bayberry.
