Karen J. (Kowalewski) Phillips, 71, of N. Syracuse, went home to be with the Lord on Monday.
She was a graduate of St. Vincent de Paul High School and received her Associates Degree from Onondaga Community College.
Karen worked for KeyBank for many years and then retired from the Onondaga County Department of Social Services.
An avid bridge and card player, Karen also enjoyed traveling. She was full of life and laughter.
She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Sheryl Kowalewski; her brother, Joseph and sister, Paulette.
Survivors include her son, Robert (Kath Allen) Diorio; daughter, Laurie (Michelle Pincince) Diorio; grandchildren, Stacey, Andrew and Gregory; sister-in-law, Joanne Kowalewski and nephews, Dave, Tim, Chris and Kyle.
Calling hours will be 4-7pm Wednesday at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday at Sacred Heart Church, Cicero.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Francis House.
