Karan M. (Butler) Mortell, 73, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home after battling breast cancer. She had fond memories of growing up in Cazenovia and enjoyed gardening. Karan was compassionate and had an amazing sense of humor. She is predeceased by her lifelong friend, Tom Mortell, November 12, 2011.
She is survived by her children, Ted (Angela) Butler, Cindy (Jonathan King) Mannion, John (Lesley) Butler, Shelli (Scott) Morse, Mark (Devin) Butler, Patti (Andy) Schiano, Maureen (Michael) Avery; twenty grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-6 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.
