June Wadsworth Ryan, 95, of Fayetteville and Brantingham Lake, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 10th at Onondaga Center. Born in Syracuse, she was the daughter of Leo Jackson Wadsworth and Axie Salisbury Wadsworth. She lived her younger years in Watertown and moved to Syracuse where she graduated from Central High School in 1942.
For over fifty years, June loved spending summers at Brantingham Lake with her family and friends. She was a past member of the Brantingham Golf Club, the Calvary Golf Club and the Onondaga Golf and Country Club. She was a supporter and fan of SU sports. Her friends knew her to be a strong lady, not afraid to express her thoughts and opinions. She often enjoyed Saturday lunches with family and friends at Hullar's and Riley's.
She was a professional model for the Addis Co., Flah's, Dey Brothers and many other stores in the Central New York area. She participated in the Post-Standard Fashion Shows held in the Onondaga County War Memorial. She was a model for the Addis Co., "Fashions at Luncheon" in the Persian Terrace at the Hotel Syracuse. She later worked for John Ward Real Estate, H&R Block, and Mitzie's.
She was predeceased by her husband of over sixty years, Lewis H. Ryan.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas W. (Marilyn A.) of Baldwinsville and James W. (Janice K.) of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Michelle A. (Daniel) Jeski and Michael H. Ryan, and several great grandchildren.
Our family sincerely thanks the staff at the Onondaga Center for their care and compassion for June over the past year.
