Julia V. Young

Julia V. Young, 105, of Mattydale, passed away April 13, 2024. Julia was born in Syracuse, New York on March 22, 1919 to Demitrie and Tekla Orynycz. Julia retired from GE, Syracuse where she was employed as an Assembler. She was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church for many year's where she was a member of the Salina Senior Group. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert B. Young; son, Dennis Young; parents, Demitrie and Tekla Oryncz; sister, Theresa Lozynsky; brothers, Randall Lawrence and Myron Orynycz; and granddaughter in law, Bailey H. Young.

Julia is survived by her children, Robert C. (Jane) Young and Susan (Daniel) Radford; 5 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren; and sisters, Dorothy Zelanzny of Medina and Catherine Piqula of Syracuse.

Calling hours will be held Friday, April 19, 2024 from 11-1PM at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, where a funeral service will follow at 1PM. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 23 at 11AM in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Julia's memory to Hospice of CNY.
