Julia I. (Edwards) Summons, 90, of Syracuse, passed away Sunday. Born in Richmond, VA to the late Robert H. and Agnes B. Edwards, Julia was raised and educated in Stratford, CT. She raised her family in Queens, NY. In August 2001 she moved to Syracuse.
She is predeceased by her 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 3 sons, 1 granddaughter, 1 great grandson and her husband, Herbert A. Summons Jr.
Julia is survived by her children, Theodora "Teddie" Owen, Julian and Ronald Summons, Patricia Manson; her brother, Ernest Edwards; 8 granddaughters; a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday 1 p.m. at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St, N. Syracuse. Burial will follow at North Syracuse Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Julia's name can be made to Blessed Sacrament Church, 3127 James St, Syracuse, NY 13206.
