Joyce H. Wake

Joyce H. Wake, 83, of North Syracuse, passed away September 19, 2022.

Joyce was born in Chateaugay, NY on September 23, 1938 to the late Edmund Hill and Rose Goodchild.

Joyce was a very strong, independent and caring woman who would even go out of her way to help the elderly whether it be taking them shopping or bringing them to church. She volunteered at her local church planning activities, outings and ran a successful Divorced and Separated Group.

An avid Brooklyn Dodgers baseball fan, she also enjoyed taking walks, nature and reading. Her faith and family were most important to her.

She was preceded in death by her Parents; Sons, Lawrence Wake, Jr., Dave Wake; Two Sisters, Lucille Morton, Ellen Manning and her Brother, Buddy Goodchild.

She is survived by her Daughter, Patty (Donald) DeRycke; Son, John (Lynn) Wake; Two Sisters, Joy Wake, Janet Miller; Grandchildren, Maria Lanfair, Kayce (Richard) Longo, Stephanie Lanfair, John (Kelly) Wake, Josh (Erin) Wake, Jason (Kim) Wake, Rose Wake, Sarah Wake, Nicole Wake, Lawrence Wake III, Anne-Marie Ingraham; 9 Great Grandchildren.

Visitation will take place on Friday, September 23, 2022 from 4-7 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, September 24 at 9 AM at St. Rose of Lima, N. Syracuse. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
