Joyce A. Halsey-Janes, 65, of Bridgeport, passed away Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Maine, she worked as a bus driver for the Cicero-North Syracuse School Dist. Joyce is predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Turner.
Joyce is survived by her husband of 16 years, Jim Janes Sr.; three daughters, Deborah (Todd) Smith, Sandra (Nick) Vavalle, Patricia (Mark) Hilgenberg; nine grandchildren; her mother, Gertrude Petitt; three sisters, Patricia Martin, Dorothy Dianchni, Margaret Rondeau.
Services will be Tuesday at 7:15 PM at New Comer Family Funeral Home. Interment will be Wednesday at 9:30 AM in the North Syracuse Cemetery. Friends may visit with her family on Tuesday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse.
Contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital. Messages of sympathy may be left at newcomerfamily.com.
