Josephine Monahan, 84, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at Francis House. She was born on September 29, 1928 in Syracuse daughter of John and Martha Bavaria. She last worked at SJM Enterprises as a bookkeeper. She was a great cook, a wonderful wife and loving mother. We will miss her greatly!
She is survived by her husband Anthony Monahan, of 67 years, 2 daughters, Carol (Dennis) Yandle, Kannoplis, NC, Kathy (John) Roberts, Ivins, UT, 2 sons, Michael (Brenda) Monahan, Phoenix, David (Shelly) Monahan, Chesepeake, VA, grandchildren; Jason Yeates, TX, Scott Roberts, N. Syracuse, Jennifer Pownall, Hastings, Megan Amatrone, Phoenix, Jeff & Brandon Monahan, Chesepeake, VA, Courtney Monahan, Arlington, VA, 9 great grandchildren, along with 2 sisters, Rose Schmidt, N. Syracuse & Jeanette Amante, CA.
Calling hours on Friday from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St. A funeral mass on Sat. 10am at St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY or to Alzheimers Association.
