Joseph Zadlo

Joseph Zadlo, 83 of Mattydale died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. A native of Krakow, Poland, Mr. Zadlo lived in England before moving to Syracuse in 1956. During WWII he was forced into labor at Buchanwald Concentration Camp. Joe retired from New Process Gear in 1992 following 24 years of service as a machine operator and was a member of UAW Local #624. He formerly worked for A&P Bakery.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, the former Maria Jackowska; a son, Richard (Robin) Zadlo of Liverpool; a daughter, Lucia Woodman of Mattydale; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, siblings in Poland and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11:00 am Monday at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. Burial will be North Syracuse Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 2-5 pm Sunday at the funeral home, 705 N. Main St.
