Joseph D. "Joe" Tucker, 88, of Mallory, passed away on Friday at the VA Medial Center after a long illness surrounded by his loving family. Joseph was born in Saranac Lake on January 16, 1933 son of the late Joseph P. and Doris Tucker. Joseph retired as a truck driver for the US Mail. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was predeceased by his sons, David Tucker, Joey Tucker & sister Isabelle.
Joe could always be found on his lawnmower mowing his and his neighbor's lawns. In his earlier years he was well known for his Sunday Morning pancakes. Joe also enjoyed gardening, fishing and most of all being with with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy Tucker, children, Joyce (Brian) Davis, Debbie (Dan) Poticher, John (Dawn) Tucker, Darrin (Kathy) Tucker, Mark (Cassie) Tucker, Mary (Jason) Tucker, Mike (Melissa) Tucker, Angelo Hernandez, Tina (Greg) Freeman, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, 3 brothers; Albert (Sylvia), Ernie (Pat), Gerald (Georgine), nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 10-11am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St Syracuse, N. Syracuse with services at 11am. Burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery, Central Square.
