Joseph John Ozimek Sr., 71, of Liverpool, passed away Monday morning at the VA Medical Center. Born in Buffalo, NY, Joe was a 22 year Veteran serving in the US Marine Corp. retiring in 1977 as a 1st Sgt. and later working for Nichol's IGA. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching all sporting events.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betty; 3 sons, Richard, Joseph Jr.(Ginger), Charles (Linda) Ozimek; daughter, Cynthia (William) Foley; 2 brothers, Stanley and Daniel Ozimek; sister, Teresa Fudoli; 12 grandchildren, Jessica, Melissa (Bill), Matthew (Jennifer), Abby, Stephanie, Tonya, CJ, Amanda, Becky, Joey, Kenny and Tiffany; 1 great grandson, Frank; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday, 10AM in St. Joseph's Church, Liverpool. Friends are invited to visit with his family on Thursday from 4-7PM at New Comer Family Funeral Home, North Syracuse.
